Seth Henry ALLEN, NAAFI Canteen Manager
My great Uncle Seth Henry ALLEN was a NAAFI Canteen Manager aboard HMS Edinburgh Castle. He died on 20 Oct 1940 (age 24) and is remembered with honour on the PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL. My family have very little information about his death and it appears his death was kept quiet at the time. All I know from my grandfather (died 1980) is that Seth died in Sierra Leone and there is some suggestion he drowned (no facts to support this though).
